Customs question
Does anyone know if customs operate during the weekends?

Yes they do...otherwise people wouldn't be able to cross the border. That said, mail doesn't move on weekends...

oh sorry, one more question. Since I have a package coming in from HK, and today is Saturday, will Canada Post update the track during the weekends, or will they update the track on the coming Monday?
Thanks |

Might arrive in Canada in 2 days, but it might sit at Customs for 2 days to 2 months, it's really up to them.

That's up to Customs.
They make up their own rules, and inspections are somewhat subjective. You may get your item in 2 days, or it could be much longer. It's really out of your hands until they release it, and nothing you can do about it.

I've had stuff arrive from Asia in 3-4 days, sometimes 2-3 weeks. All depends on how it's shipped and how customs feel. Sometimes your package clears without question. Other times, they can hold it for as long as they deem necessary to inspect it and such. More often than not, that's not too long, but you never know with customs. Sometimes things that are totally legit to import get held up for extended periods of time.
As for the tracking system, you may see an update Monday morning, but more than likely Monday night.

I recieved my package from rsov.com, inspected by customs, 14 days after the purchase date. After cracking it open I checked the CPost tracking number and it still said 'left originating country and is on route to Canada'.

wow...that's pretty F***ed up, so I guess I'll need to have a heads up, instead of relying on the Canada Post tracking system, well for now it makes sense, cause it's the weekend, sooo I guess I'll see when Monday rolls along.

That's why it's sometimes just plain better to buy from Canadian retailers who have the product in stock...

Ummm...Canadian retailers were the first place I checked....it's quite clear that they dont have the item, so I had to buy it overseas, if they did have it, I wouldnt go through all this, and would've just bought it from them
