Hey guys.
I've been shoping around for a GBB for a while. I need something that can take a beating and will last a long time. The KWA M17 has gotten some great reveiws, but what do you guys think? I'm trying to do a lot of research before I buy, because I can't afford to buy something that won't last. If the M17 isn't long lasting, what is (somewhere between $100-$130 USD and can run on propane)? Thanks.

You're in the states.
Get a TM, KSC or get a GP Custom |

I'm not arguing about your opinion, i'm just to get this right.
As I remember, a TM glock has a plastic slide which won't take propane, and isn't KSC the same as KWA?

Newer model TMs seem to be able to run propane out of the box.
KWA and KSC although manufactured by the same company who owns them both they are are not always the same, some guns have diffrent internal specs. Heres info on KWA/KSC http://www.kwausa.com/cs_faqs.html#4

Interesting...
How much would a metal slide be to put on it (nothin fancy)?

Depends where you shop, your in the states, things should be cheaper. There should be lotsa online retailers where your from. Not to mention if you look in your area you might be able to find a walk in store. But just to throw a number out there....lets say 90-100 dollars. That number can go up or down depending on what you want and quality of the materials of the slide.

I probably should have said this in the beginning (sorry), but I would prefer a metal slide stock because to upgrade from plastic might be a little out of my price range.

So should it break down, how available are replacement parts for it? What about if I want to upgrade it? Will it cause more wear and tear?

upgrade always cause more stress on the pistol. Some parts can be replace with stronger ones, some can't. Right now TM is so popular because for many of their newer guns all the stock components can be replaced with aftermarket ones that maybe stronger/lighter/better looking...etc, and pretty much everything can be found with major retailers. I think parts in my Hi-Capa thats still stock is less than the fingers of my hand....

I found a KSC (not Kwa) m17 online at UN company for $76 USD. Anyone ever heard of this place? Should I go for it? That sure is cheap.

Thanks. I'll talk to my dad about it, too.
Does ksc have a 45 day warranty like kwa? Also, I looked really close and it turned out to be the abs version. ![]()

there is warranty on KSC but you'd have to send it back to japan to get it fixed. if you dont mind the trademarks, by all means, get a KWA in usa instead. Parts are cheap and easily accessible for KSC and KWA glocks, you can easily find replacement parts on UNcompany, WGCshop, or Redwolf. there are also many parts guns on the classifieds in the US...
oh and there are metal slided versions of the KSC G17 being sold on uncompany. |
