Battery charging question
As we speak my 8.4v battery is charging. It is plugged into a voltage converter (its from overseas) and started charging about an hour ago. I searched the forums for answers, and look at the "battery FAQ" but i am having trouble figuring out how to calculate the time to charge the battery. Here is the info on the battery:
Input: AC 220v 50/60 hz Output: DC 8.4v 250 ma And the battery says its 1.2v each, and 1300ma. Any help on how long it will take to charge, or how to figure out how long it will take is much apreaciated. Also, this is the first time this battery will be charged. |

5~6 hours. If the out put is 250mah

Probably around 5-6 hours like Skladfin mentioned but don't suspect it to be completely charged by then. For some reason it takes all the batterys I get around 12 hours for no appearent reason

Your charger is 220 volt? Your outlet at home is 110 volts. See a problem here?
If your converter does work, just divide your battery's amperage by the amperage of the charger. Like in the FAQ, it's highly suggested to get a decent guess-proof charger. |

so if i calculated it right.. it should take 6.5 hours?

How the hell did you get that number...
1300 divided by 250 = 5.2 hours = 5 hours and 15min approx. Are you failing math course or what. |

A charger that puts out 8.4V isn't going to charge an 8.4V battery.

I think you have it confused with the input. Output value of the charger IS the voltage of the battery. Anyone tried charging an 8.4v with 120v charger =)? |

Most chargers I've seen that charge an 8.4v battery put out between 9 and 13 volts. Otherwise the battery would be "pushing back" with the same force that the charger is using, and hence no charge. Am I wrong? (I know this is very simplified... but yea...)

No, you're right. 8.4V is how much the battery will put out when it's 100% drained... If you're going to charge it, you need to apply a greater potential difference in order for the chemistry to actually store a charge.

Took the battery of the charger. Works great, but because i didn't want to annoy people and start a new thread.. when my gun in on semi auto, i can hold down the trigger, and it shoots one, and then one, like normal, but then, after the third shot, it shoots on full auto.. I don't know why, but has anyone experienced this with their guns before? (my guns a jg m4a1 btw)

This is true. My charger pushes around 10-10.5v charging my 8.4v battery.
