Backstop
Hey guys,
What are most people using as a backstop? i have about 40 feet of dedicated area so it doesn't have to be portable. In the past i have used some Styrofoam but that doesn't work that well unless you have a complete sheet and it doesnt hold up very well |

Place behind your targets as to not get ricochets to the groin or face region

He means some thing to stop bbs like a target. I've used a old bed spred with targets on it and the wooden box with duct seal (but that is more for airguns).
What about a extra sheet of drywall (that was cheap for me). That should last a while except the bbs will bounce back if you don't usea thick old blanket to absorb the impact.

I don't shoot my Airsoft guns in my apartment. I go to my friend's place and we use a combination of cardboard boxes (so the BB stay's inside) and his little brother.

Think some old 1 inch shag carpet would work?

Yes that is great, and put someting underneth to catch the bbs. Like a towel spreadout. Then find targets online, printout and clip onto carpet using a large paperclip clamp.

Is that 40 feet indoors or outdoors? If it's your backyard... dont.
PS fill your profile with your location at least, laws and bylaws differ per area. |

it works really good, i quickly made a rig to hold the sheet and carpet out of some strapping, stops it dead

They bounce off of carpet. Just use a loose sheet or blanket as it will absorb the energy better and they will drop straight down where you can clean them up easily.
