No, for a variety of legal reasons. It's been looked into before.
That, and the insane cost the gun would have, since the market is so damned small. |

You dont need to, you can get mags and other internals no problem.
You just need to fabricate metal bodies.

Manufacturing replica firearms is illegal without the proper licenses. although.... the point made above.... that you don't need to manufacture the entire gun... just parts... which could then be assembled into a complete gun from various sources does have merit.... I suspect however that it would be cost prohibitive

Agreed. It really is a money thing.
There is a non restricted rifle called a 180B that comes with a somewhat fragile polymer lower. There are a couple of guys doing limited runs of aluminum lowers on CNC machines for it here in Canada. Last estimate was $500 EACH.

Tempting idea, but like everyone else has stated, it really is just the issue of cost.

I don't see how the market is small. Just because we cant bring the receivers IN, doesn't mean if one was to manufacture them here, one could not ship OUT to other countries. That way everybody wins. The guys over the border get another option for metal bodies, and we get reasonably priced parts.
Who wouldn't love that?
