Is there any difference?

I think most RC batteries are 7.2V ( but I might be mistaken ) and airsoft batteries are 8.4V and up.

you may periodically run into reversed polarity (as in the tamiya plug will have the wires put in so it clips backwards)...
I bet it's rare, but it happened to me. |

Well as far as I know TM used to make RC cars so they probably still have the batteries to fit in.

They are the exact and same thing.
Except that most of the time RC batteries are better quality (they need to be discharged in about 5-7 minutes vs 2-3 days (4000mAh pack and up) You can find RC batteries up to 50V and more (50V, 23000mAh is the biggest I have seen so far) as for reversed polarity, it can happen, but I suspect an error at the factory building the gun and/or battery |

All RC Car batteries Ive seen with either 7.2v or 9.2v and up... I have yet to see an 8.4v although I'm sure someone will now provide a link or picture lol. I was running a Wal-mart/Radio Shack brand battery in my M4 awhile back when my regular battery crapped out.

Just remember to order the appropriate cell size, else it might not fit.

I run a 3000mAh 7.2V RC battery for my upgarded M4 with no problems it works well except for a slight FPS drop.

All mini connectors are wired the opposite way of the large Tamiya connectors. Retarded yes, but what can you do but be diligent.

Lower voltage would just give you less ROF correct?

Ive used an RC 7.2 batt as a backup for when my batt died once. It works, just not as good as an AEG batt with higher voltage/MA
But it works in a jam |
