german gears are prohibited on ebay?!

I was looking for some parts of field gears on keith7524fnl's ebay store and I had this message

Dear User:

Unfortunately, access to this particular category or item has been blocked due to legal restrictions in your home country. Based on our discussions with concerned government agencies and eBay community members, we have taken these steps to reduce the chance of inappropriate items being displayed. Regrettably, in some cases this policy may prevent users from accessing items that do not violate the law. At this time, we are working on less restrictive alternatives. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you, and we hope you may find other items of interest on eBay.

Thank You.

I don't know what's the problem with ebay, it looks like a communist interference.

Damn, for a second I nearly soiled myself. That's my number one place for WW2 stuff.

However, I used a link that I had bookmarked:
http://stores.ebay.ca/ww2militaria-keith7524fnl

It appears that the store has not closed down, yet? Anyways, we'll just have to wait and see.

I believe eBay does not allow anything with the swastica, and a couple other symbols, but I think they are cool with the gear in general... unless policies have changed?

I can't count how much WW2 German gear, Uniforms ect. I've got off e-bay. I just bought more yesterday from Keith's . Can't say I've ever seen that message before. Maybe it's because you live in Quebec, but I don't see that being the problem! Do you get this message all the time or just the once. Let us know. Kid your right they don't like the swastika but will allow it to be displayed on money, only coins and bills.

I've seen numerous Nazi badges on eBay that have a swastika incorporated into the design. Maybe it's just the items that have a blatant swastika like the Nazi Party armbands.

No need to worry.
As long as the Item does not contain swastikas, SS runes or other symbols related to the Anti-Semitic party in the picture it is clear to be sold on Ebay.

I also bought numerous stuff Off from ebay.

Well I just tried again but now, instead to be on the computer at my work, it's on my personal computer and for the moment, I don't have this message.

I must verify tomorrow if there is still a message like that.

This morning everything were blocked but not the clothes. Maybe ebay temporaly blocked most of thing to make verifications.

at least, I'm happy to see that I can buy something from my personnal computer

Cheeze I think you just answered your own question. If you got the message at work but not at home, the company you work for could be using a web blocker to stop people in the company from viewing things that could be questionable. Our work has the same setup, but they just use it to block out porn.

hum it's a small business and we don't have it. But it was a message from Ebay, inside the website. I'm sorry, I forgot to write in the first post

Maybe someone at your work had been browsing the web majorly with topics/websites that had some agency notice and get concerned then flag the IP...?

Sounds like a crazy idea, but could very well be true.

Well I know France use to have, until recently, a ban on all surplus an' repops with Swastikas an' SS runes, but not anymore. Germany is still like that. Would you happen to have been usin' the French Ebay? I would imagine it would be still blocked on there.

Of cource Ebay prefers if the Swastika is not visible in the pictures, so I know an occasional auction item is taken down here an' there. Not very widespread through

Probably something to do with proxy configurations. Either IE's set to use one, and FF isn't, or the other way around.
