MP5 loading multiple BB's

I've been plinking in my basement for the last few weeks with my MP5. I've had no problems so far until today.

When I loaded my Hicap into the AEG a large amount of BB's spewed though the nozzle and into the gun - so much so that the Hicap spring wound down.

Pulling the trigger resulted in a shotgun type spray of BB's - around 10 or so. Thinking it might be the release mechanism on the mag I tried a lowcap with the same results. Basically the gun lets in as many BB's as possible.

I turned the gun upside down to take a look into the mag loading chamber. When I pull the trigger the nozzle does not seem to cover the BB opening when it's at the rest position.

Anyone have any idea why this is happending? The gun is stock and has never been cracked open.

Could the gears be out of sync somehow or is there some sort of a tappet plate return spring that may have broken?

That's a Problem, not an AEG Solution to one...
The mag is supposed to pre-load all the BBs it can, but it's not supposed to create a hose of ammo.
Is your hopup adjusted properly?

I adjusted it when I first got it in the spring and haven't messed with it since.

There's not alot of adjustment range on the hop up for this gun - it's an ICS. It's just a small lever with around a 120 degree sweep.

If I point the gun down the BB's will just roll out.

Then your hopup is off too much, or you have a problem with all your mags. Go see a local 'doctor'.

Still the wrong section, ask a moderator to move your post.

I just realized it was in the wrong section. I thought it was Doctor's corner and not AEG solutions. I must have clicked it by accident.

It's definitely not a mag problem - they were all working fine up until now.

Requires a visual look-see. I've also seen a piston with a separated head produce a similar effect.

Upon further inspection it seems that most of my nozzle has decided it didn't like it's current surroundings and seems to have left.

I'll replace it for now with a stock unit that I have left over from when I upgraded my M4 - I hope they're the same.
