G&P m4a1

Hey guys, I just bought my new G&P m4a1, very excited, and then when I charged up my 8.4v 600mah battery for an hour and 15 minutes, then plugged it into the m4, tried it out, then dry click. nothing happened.

can anyone give me a hand?

thanks

Check battery, it's not charged enough

Get a more powerful battery. Mini batteries just won't turn over stock G&P guns.

Yeah, thats a problem, the adds lie, they aren't suitable to use 8.4v minis. My 8.4v 1100mah NiMH mini battery could only turn it over on full auto, and on full auto the ROF sucked, and it drained the battery in only a few mags. So go to a 9.6v mini or up, and you won't have any problems, one more thing did you try shooting on semi and nothing right?

Also check your fuse. I've had that problem a couple of times and it was because of a blown fuse.

Grab yourself a 8.4v 1700mah NiCad large battery, as mentioned above the G&P "stock" guns need a lot of power to turn over. I got in a G&P SPR/a a couple months ago and my 8.4v 3000mah NiMh will turn it over but does not last long, the NiCad battery I bought afterwards does.

Also, if its sounds like its trying to turn over, but just doesnt. Check the positioning of you motor, it may be in to tight or not enough (I had this issue and chewed through a new motor and part of another one till I fiqured it out).

I tried shooting on semi and nothing happened. I mean, nothing happened! I tried charging it for 2 hours, and nothing! I was really mad. Now my G&P m4 review will have to be put on hold.

That sounds like what mine was doing, try adjusting your motor. If this seems to help a bit, but still jamms, pull the motor out and check the pinion gear teeth on it, if theyre chewed up, you will probably need to mod your motor mount (if so let me know, and I will forward what was done to mine), I know at least 2 other G&P owners who have had to do similiar mods.

one more thing, placing the battery in the barrel with a mini is really difficult in a G&P m4. you have to slide it in, jam it in, at the same time try and get the delta ring to hold the barrel. So far, i'm a little less than impressed with it.

get/borrow a fully charge 9.6v 1700mAh (or more) battery to cycle it first. I think the spring is at compress position now and it's hard with mini battery (it's good only with TM stock, IMHO)

would a 9.6V, 1000mAh work? I can borrow one from a buddy of mine from his toy car.

It might not have enough power to cycle it, the G&P guns are upgraded a fair bit.

Alright, I found out what the culprit was, there's something wrong with the gun itself. I tried using a 9.6v battery and it still doesn't work. So now I have to send it back.

Did you check the motor adjustment and pinion gear on the motor like I mentioned above?? Sometimes the motor is not sitting far enough in causing it to jam against the mech box, its an easy fix.

No, I didn't check it. The warranty says to send it back right away without opening it, and I intended to follow it to the letter. I lacked the tools, expertise, and immediate consultation because Londoners don't even know what airsoft is.

but thanks again
