thoughts on velocity arms?
im planning on just getting a cheap gun to get into the sport as i dont want to drop 400-500$ for my first gun and i found the velocity arms v4a1. ive heard they are just JG rebrands but ive seen multiple chronos of the gun on youtube ranging from 330-420 fps. i was wondering if anyone has used one of these guns and can tell me there thoughts on it

JG's are decent starter weapons. If you don't want to invest in something high end it will be a good option.
There is a common misconception here that unverified members can't be told anything. This is not true; they just can't be informed of how to get airsoft in Canada. Clearly the OP has a shop in mind.

true enough, In that case, I had a JG mp5 sd5 by them and it was fantastic, well outperformed a lot of more expensive guns that i took up against
dont worry about the fps too much, just make sure you have something that is consistant and accurate |

i will be using it to shoot large distances so i need a gun that can be accurate up to like 150ft or so.

Well almost no stock gun can shoot 150ft accurately, let alone a JG. I had one for my first gun as well and it is not a "bad" gun, but don't expect amazing range and accuracy from it.

What are you shooting thats 150 ft away? Wouldnt a .177 BB gun be better?

Well what are you trying to shoot? If your going for accuracy then maybe an airsoft gun isnt the best. A BB is greatlty affected by wind and other variables at longer distances. And airsoft sniper rifles are finicky and require upgrading to reach their full potential.

I recently purchased one of those v4a1's as a back up and I was surprised at performance. Main went down so I've been using this all season. I am quite trigger happy so I have probably put 12000+ rounds through it and not one hiccup. After playing 6 or so games I am finding it easy to compete if not out range most other guns. Shoots straight and last chrono with .25's was 350. Kind of sounds and feels cheap when shooting but shoots well. With that said, definitely a good starter gun, but once you hold some metal you will wish you put the 260 bones towards something a bit nicer.
Oh and mine was branded as Techfast? haven't found much on them but looks like a JG. |

God, you guys cant stay on topic!
To answer the question, Frank at VA is one of the most trusted airsoft retailers in Canada. You can't go wrong doing business with him. Go to his store and put the gun your hands then decide. Everything everyone here says is pure opinion, but you have to be happy with the purchase. |
