Yeah if the people next door freaked about your pellet guns, I'd stick to basement/bedroom shooting with the windows/doors closed.
It's what I do just to be safe.

It's recommended that you take the precaution so that no member of the general public can see you with it. Also you probably would want to notify your neighbors of your recent purchase... If they won't ring the cops right from the get-go

If you are going to kylon paint a clear gun, paint the inside of the gun to preserve the markings.
