If ASGK approved it then they should be arrested, not Tanaka. But then again we live in a world where there are no moral rights or real laws.
ASGK has no real power and is a buy-me-and-I'll-give-you-a-sticker-of-certification company just like THX (give me a break, I'm not getting started), Energy Star (there are many products WITHOUT this 'certification' that use LESS power), automotive pre-owned certification (anything with 4 wheels and runs will pass for a fee) with no real standards or engineering. a 500 tanaka in country is such a rarity it would be a shame to destroy it to fire a single round when you can easily find another mean...

I've heard the new Tanakas are not that great as airsoft pistol goes....the shell loading is gimmicky and power is so so even with green, and since this system have not been around enough to evolve into the HW frame they don't feel as good...
there are metal kits out for the 8" M500 already though, for $300+ USD... |

There is a bit of infighting going on at ASGK. In a past cases ASGK was used as a way of excluding competition to the Japanese airsoft market. Some members got tired of the corruption or wanted the corruption to go their way for a change and left to support JASG which appears to be a much more active association for target sports as they also administer to voluntary regulation of airgun target sports.

Last I heard you can get a hot handgun in Canada for $300, friend of a friend, now in jail for armed robbery (with a machete.) Way better than a one use airsoft gun.

Yeah....using this in Canada as a fire arm is just dumb and really stupid. But you have to remember that in Japan, any gun made of metal (any type of metal) is highly illegal (except for shot guns, which are next to impossible to acquire a permit for, and then it can never leave the gun club, too which membership is insanely expensive).
So for the Japanese criminals it is worth the using this "disposible gun" and risking injury, because they wouldn't be charged just for carrying around an airsoft pistol, and it's readily available. Where as if they were even suspected of having access to a real fire arm they are detained. SHA DO |
