battery BB penetration
basically i would like to know if anything can happen to a 9V battery http://www.focusonprice.com/images/JD014.jpg, if you shoot it with a BB. i am asking this cause i went ahead and grabbed some spare computer parts and made a fan for my goggle. i have the battery taped on the strap, between my head and the strap. i wonder what will happen if someone shoots the battery from a distance or pointblank... i know... random question :P

9V batteries are in pretty tough metal cases. If you're paranoid, shoot an empty one in a safe location but I wouldn't expect more than a dent.

I doubt a BB could penetrate a battery and cause anything to happen. The battery is much harder than a BB. Now, if it were a .177 BB or pellet at 400+ fps, I could see penetration. Not sure what effect that would have, but I don't see it as being an issue with an airsoft BB.

His head won't explode, just his hair will catch on fire and leave him horribly burned and scarred.
 Shoot one with a PTW and an M150 point blank. That's about as powerful as you'll ever see on the field.

I just shot one (0.20g ~370fps)...it dented, nothing more. I then threw it against the wall...that did more damage than the bb. 9v's are pretty tough...
**** edit **** I just whacked one twice with a hammer...smushed all out of shape but didn't burst...I'll see if it leaks later tonight ************ But I suppose it could eventually leak... As long as your opponents aren't using APCR or HEAT BB's, you should be fine.
