This was the first version though and i'm not sure how these gun's perform off CO2, and don't want to know because i think 350+ fps is way to hot for a pistol.

Ok first, dont tell to not buy one because you had some problems with only one off them.
Second, was it stock?? guess not, because you say that you shot it with an overflowing mags, could that have been the problem? Probably!
If you read the manuals, its say that a full mags can shot 27bb's, if you use common sens you will know thats its not a good idea to put an overflowing valve.
Alright i got mine to weeks ago and i love it. It shoots hard, its accurate(if you take your time between shots  ) and its full metal. Right now its shooting at 300-310 fps indoor. The only issues i had with it so far was with tm mags, after around 300 shots he wouldn't take the tm hicapa's mags anymore but was working flawlessly with the original mags.Looks like the problem was with the loading nozzle, but after a good clean and lube its working again. My guess would that after some time i will have to remplace it with the tm hicapa enhance loading nozzle Illusion have for sell. So thats it for now, i have a game tonight and i planed to play only with my pistol, i will give some news tommorow on how it went. My opinion right now is that pistol is a heavy weight work horse that i dont mind droping in the sand !!!
