Sorry, but I don't think that this is the best place to post that. Most people here at Airsoft Canada have only ever used the big, high-class brands, such as Tokyo Marui or other larger companies. UTG is almost impossible to get around here, as we can't import from the States and our retailers don't stock them.
The best idea is ask at Airsoft Retreat or something, you'll probably get better feedback. Just my 2 cents. Nate |

Common sense dictates that since the UTG MP5 is a TM MP5 clone, that it'd need the same level of power to operate. Does TM MP5 run on 7.4v? No. So why do you even want to try intentionally underpowering your gun?

Well for one, 7.4 volts is equal to 3.7 volts x 2, which would be two lithium polymer ion batteries. Obviously he is interested in experimenting with battery types. Since a LiPo cell is 3.7 volts, the next step up would be 11.1 volts. A bit much for any AEG.
Secondly, TM guns run just fine on 7.2 volts. I run a 7.2V 3300 mAh GP Champion pack in my AK and get a rate of fire of 900 RPM. Exactly how is that underpowered? |

Even small LiPoly cells are much more than 900mAh. Most likely he's just got a 7.2V RC battery and doesn't want to buy another battery..
