Is a ak metal front set universal for both ak 47 and 74u ?

Er Nope, unless you have the older cyma 74u
Then you can mount a 47 front and vise versa.

Some lct front ends come with a adapter for TM style lowers.

And what other parts do I need to complete a front end ?. Excluding front hand guards and outer barrel

So you want to get a second front set (and a AKS74U one) for your current AK? Is your current AK Marui spec or VFC/LCT spec?

Just so you know there's 2 styles of front ends for airsoft. TM style and LCT/VFC style. I forget what the exact differences are but IIRC one of them had to do with the screws on the front (I think it was 2 screws vs 4 screws). IIRC VFC was supposed to be the better style and also offers more realistic take down or something I think VFC style was also supposed to be able to take RS hand grips as well.

I'm curious see if you can swap the polymer front set to metal , on a lancer tactical ak74u

I Believe its TM compatible

If the ak has 4 screws on the bottom (2 in mag well and 2 next to the mag well), it is a TM spec.
If it doesn't, most likely a VFC/LCT spec.
There are other systems, for example, I think ICS ak uses a system slightly different from both, and of course there is also Real Sword. But other systems are rare.

If you know the maker and model number of your ak that will help.
