Disarming metallic 40mm grenades

So i loaded 6 40mm nades with propane last night but didnt get to fire even one. The fire sprinklers went off inside the indoor field and we were evacuated...

Funny enough I just realized I never finished a game wiith loaded 40 mms so how do I safely disarm them? Just unscrew them in the center?

No, I wouldn't unscrew them. Take a screwdriver and vent the gas out the fill valve slowly.

Or better yet, use your propane or co2 adapter without the tank attached.

Don't store them with gas in them! Have never had an issue with oring on grenades drying up. They are not the same as the flat seals found in gbb/gbbr mags.

They are also a safety hazard if you got BB's in them.

If you do come across a dry oring, you're slacking on your regular maintenance. A drop of silicon oil or a swipe of silicone grease can revive them.

I always lube and grease them a bit the night before a game anyway when doing an inspection before loading them. And I always gas them up at the field! Don't need them going off at home or in transit.

Of the 6 I had, 2 were already leaking, 2 had really really slow (2 month) leaks on them, and the last 2 I charged up about a year and a half ago and they've still got gas in them

You can store them pressurized, but it's unnecessary. You need to find out why they were leaking though.

What brand? You know if they aren't high power CO2 madbulls... /end conversation

yeah they're the king arms ones
I got sick of having to rebuild them every 10 shots, luckily they DO sell rebuild kits but it sucks.
Either the valves leak, the piston's O-ring cracks, or the piston seat gets damaged when reloading. So I've got a few that I've turned on the lathe to get perfect.
Anyway I'm retooling them all to hold bear bangers, and remodeling my M203 to have a firing pin.
