Looking for a balanced buy for Masks
Hello, myself and some friends(All above 18 so no we're not snotty little kids
![]() as we've upgraded from crappy walmart spring shotguns to AEG's, spring-snipers, and co2 pistols. I have an Echo1 ASR which fires around 2.1-2.2 joules (if the chart I'm using is correct) a .78 joule co2 Pistol and a 1 joule Kraken as the Echo 1 is technically the strongest gun any of us own currently we need to make sure in the off chance someone misses a chest shot and someone gets hit in the face, that they arent injured in any way. I had bought some lower quality masks which were suitable for the previous guns we had (about 8 of them) which are fine still with handling fire from the pistol, but the Kraken and the Sniper just demolish them, especially the kraken due to the high rpm. I was custom painting them too, its a shame they can't be used anymore. So what we want is a good reccomendation on something that will be able to handle being shot with a heavy firing 2 joule gun, and repeated shots from a 1 joule AEG Cheaper is always better if we can get similar levels of protection of course.. since theres a good chance I'll be buying myself 1 and then a few spares for tag alongs and new recuits. |

we dont need any 60 dollar helmets, but I dont want to buy TOO cheaply that they are unsafe. I'm looking for brand, prices, model ect. |

Paintball masks are rated for aorund 11 joules, which is far beyond airsoft velocities, no matter what the material (styrene, PLA or silica). I highly recommend a lower face shield of some sort to protect your teeth. Many PB masks come with that or you can look at third party solutions like the Brassguard masks - they don't impede your breathing the way the PB lower shields do, so you have huff and puff all day long.
Safety glasses such as AOS's with the Z87.1+ rating will work in airsoft but have a lower joule rating (around 4) and have less side and deflection protection depending on face fit. PLUG: Attend ASU AIRSOFT101 to learn more. www.asucanada.com This is why I made the school. Last edited by Scarecrow; July 2nd, 2010 at 10:20.. |
