I went to a doctor today and have it x-rayed. 100% sure.. there's a bb (non -biodegradable) inside my palm. Consultation is for free because of my healthcard, but the operation would cost me big buck (healthcard can't cover this case). He didn't mention about any complication in the future if I let it stay there.
Seriously, i'm really considering slicing it open and pull it out. It's just a skin away.. I can feel it. And I know where it really is right now. It is just UNDER MY SKIN (under the scar)! I'm just worrying about slicing a wrong nerve and that would be a big trouble. My plan... (well just in case I became a real idiot).. I could re-open the scar where the wound was and pull it out from there wishing i woundn't hit any nerve. Pour some betadine and bandage.. I was able to put it in there.. I should be able to remove it from there! Anyhow.. what is the composition of the BB anyway?! Will it breakdown in my system in the future? What will happen if it runs through my blood?

If theirs a scar and it really really isn't deep you can do it yourself or have a buddy do it.
But for a BB to be stuck in there it must be deep, i really would recommend getting it out by a doctor because foreign objects are simply not meant to be there

Get a nice (new) exacto blade, a couple of antiseptic wipes and cut it the fuck out yourself. I've carved all sorts of shit (mostly splinters of wood and glass) out of my hands over the years. It's a bit of a pain in the ass if you have to work on your strong hand, but otherwise it's not that big a deal.
You'd have to deeper than the BB is do any nerve damage. If you want, go to your GP for some trumped up reason, and if he's like mine, you can grab Xylocaine and 2.0 silk if you feel the need. But a BB's sized hole should require neither, depending on your pain tolerance of course. FOR FUCK SAKES TAKE PICTURES!  Quote:

get it checked out. you have tons of tendons in your hands, and scar tissue interferes with them. have you noticed any pain when you make a fist? any stretching feeling?

 That's where it went through about 7 months ago. And it's still playing inside there.  Have it x-rayed this afternoon..  Why would it costs me big buck where i can do it myself? <-- minus the anesthesia of course.

Holy crap and I was hesitant to scroll down thinking you would surprise us with a sliced up hand picture.
You really going to go through with the home surgery? Good luck and read those home surgery manuals before you do, you don't want to have your finger not working no more. I heard in the Philipines they sometimes play with really high FPS. Is that true? |
