fps on that gun is important. Makes it more appealing to beginners =D
the hop-up is actually pretty decent believe it or not. |

You'll want to make sure you get a TM style AK hopup chamber, the stock aftermath one is not compatible with standard upgrade barrels. It has a plastic piece that slides onto the end of the stock aluminum barrel. This causes air leaks.
so make sure you buy a good tightbore and a TM style AK hopup chamber.

So... After 10k rounds with the stock kraken spring (I opened it up today, ald also, I preventatively re-shimmed, relubed, then adjusted the motor height to near perfection =p), and the bushings were worn down and wobbled. This will lead to huge gear wear. But that's ok, they are some weird brand that I've never heard of =p. Not even XYT.

you shouldn't... Get some 6mm bushings, because I'm not sure if the gear teeth will bend or shatter. Metal shrapnel being hurled around the inside of your mechbox will damage more than the gears. Oh, and if you can get the piston head pad off, a sorbo will fit. Fact of the matter is, those nylon bushings are terrible. They're grey in color and are slightly irregular on the surface.

Spend $20 now and a bit of work, or spend $100 when your gears strip.

hence the "More appealing to beginners" part. Same with every chinaclone. But honestly, 280fps isn't going to outrange a 380fps gun... Especially since my hop-up works perfectly =p but that doens't matter since I've downgraded my spring to an m90

I saw nobody saying this: FPS isn't everything, once I run a complete year on my stock (enter a TM or similar airsoft model.) shooting at about 280 fps with .20g and I had a range comparable to all those having a (enter a JG or Kraken airsoft model) shooting at 380 fps because they think more FPS is automaticaly better. Consistency is the key and usually high FPS is the ennemy of consistency.

To further ad to my past statement, FPS means nothing.
I ran a bone stock marui VSR-10 shooting at roughly 280-300 FPS for an entire year and it worked just fine ![]() At the begging of this year I was running my AEG as 200 FPS and still out-ranging most people. ![]() |
