I strive for as much realism as possible, and certainly enjoy MILSIM over other styles of play. |

I'd much rather just load up a hi-cap and go shoot people. |

I love mil-sim, but also enjoy fast retarded fun games such as attack/defend and pure out skirmishes, but those I like for "climax games" at the end of a long day of missions.

I like the occasional capture the flag, 3 man spawn team, and no objective skirmishes, gets you riled up for big ops!
And I love our WW2 and vietnam games where we restrict everyone to realcaps lol |

I love Milsim but sometimes some very fast paces skirmish are fun.
We did a game were we sent team of 2 with an interval of 1 minutes 5 times. and then we increase by team of 4, and so on. So every times you were killed you come back and get back in line and back in the frey.. Every team was against everybody else. So everytimes you go back in the games, you have to find a place of move on, because some will come in your back soon enough.. This was a huge sucess in CQB building of 3 story. JF |

I enjoy Milsims because they have a larger role playing element to them but they are allot harder to run and run well. I would be happy with objective based skirmishes 90% of the time so long as the only highcaps alowd were on support guns.

CQB offers quite a bit of fast-paced action. Don't know why MILSIM games are characterized by lacking in action or pace, as they should be quite the opposite.

The way I enjoy airsoft is not really milsim. I'll try to explain.
Milsim is good; the clothes, tactics, guns and equipment add up to a look that puts your mind into a set space. WHat works for me after years of dealing with real guns is how real the airsoft look. Also how their appearance make me react when I look down the business end. One part of my brain knows it's a toy, it wont hurt or kill me. But another deeper part wants to find a deep hole and hide. That part makes the adrenalin flow, and makes the game fun. If the person holding the gun is also wearing the right equipment, and moving with practice and teamwork, I'm impressed. It adds to the flavor of the game. I can understand when people dont have the perfect BDUs or look. As long as they try is fine with me. Anyone using paintball clothes, fully civilian outfits that stand out (unless part of a scenario) or stupid techniques will totally ruin my enjoyment of the game. Does that make sense? |

when I saw that Greylocks had posted here I just had to come in and see...I must agree with him.
anyways, IMO, airsoft is based on realism,if you want to just run around like a fool you might as well just go play paintball, the Idea that AS gives me is going outside (or indoors) and "pretending" your doing the real thing. doing littles skirmishes must be fun, you don't need your big gear, and you might as well use hi-caps. but when your doing milsim, and its all been planned for months with buddies, the match and the hot dogs are all prepared then you put a little seriousness in the game, but theres always some sort of immaturity floating around, which isn't bad since it reminds you, ITS JUST A GAME.

One for realism, having a uniform team that applies teamwork and tactics I love nothing better, but when people start whipping out textbooks to criticize you and when the fun of the sport is lost, it gets on my nerves very quickly.

love milsim, but not a big fan of the over serious guys. it is a game, and ultimatly im there to have fun and enjoy it. i always classified it as tacsim. milsim being pretending/ running the game like its a real mil op, tacsim being more focused on tactical, no the mil aspect.
i dont enjoy guys out there lolly gagging, fuckin around, and esspecially messing with the natural flow of the game, exploiting aspects to give them an unfair advantage. |

Not everyone can afford to have the high end gear, and some have to make do. The more fun is customizing yourself and I believe thats why you see more airsofters ditching the "nation" looks and taking on PMC looks where their gear is tailored to them, their playing style, and is still very milsim.

As close to MILSIM as you can get while still using midcaps; that's my style.
