ok, i just browsed the bb bastard website and saw the cnc bbs. im not spending 12$ plus shiping on ten bbs. it says its re-usable, but i play in the woods and would have a hell of a time finding these. i think i wil go fr the .28 clea stealth "super hard" ones, as i am finding myself in the stealth role alot, since no one else that i know seems to be very sneeky. anyway, thanks for the help guys!

Go for black BBs for stealth. Silica BBs are not allowed on every field.

Silica BB's are dangerous. I will not play in any event with Silicas.

I love silicas, there great bbs and no more "dangerous" than any other bb. They will brake glass but that is simply due to the fact that they do not mush on impact with a hard surface, they do no more damage to a person that any other bb.

Ya, the green .36g are awesome, you can track their flight and compensate accordingly for a follow up shot. Don't bother with black, not heavy enough nor can you see them, and seeing your round fly is massively important for accurate longer range shooting.

Mechbox or no the 385fps was found to be perfect in relation to the shape of the BBs in flight. Basically around 385fps is when you have optimum accuracy and range. P.S. I am assuming the 385fps is found with .20 gram BBs |

remember, with gas, the longer the BB stays in the barrel (eg heavier BB) the higher your resulting energy (joules) will be, because your propane has more time to expand
at a fixed distance and gas output, the BB energy on impact will increase as you increase the weight of the BB. Last edited by coach; March 19th, 2012 at 14:56.. |

I second this. 0.28g should be the minimum you're looking at in a DMR or sniper role. Personally I would recommend 0.30g or greater as kalnaren did.
The heavier your BB, the more resistance it will have to air currents, brush, drag, etc. And the heavier BB, while travelling slower than a lighter BB fired from the same gun, will also get you better range as it will hold its energy for longer because of that weight. So for real range and accuracy, the general rule is the heavier, the better.

As far as your MP5 goes, let me guess, you were using light BBs? My almost stock A5, shooting 360fps w/0/20g, would get 0.28g BBs out to 200ft easily...... |

Only dmr can decide what BB is best for dmr.

best thing to do is buy a small amount of different weights and see for yourself. Everyone will tell you different things because people can have different experiences.

I think BB Bastard should offer mixed bags of test ammo, say 100rds each of every weight for a few bucks. Would be perfect for cases such as this.....
