Since this is your first airsoft, I suggest you stick with an M4 with a metal body from King Arms, Classic Army or G&P. The reason is that you can upgrade, swap, repair a TM compatible M4 airsoft very easily. Parts are plentyfull new or used. If you have a quality plateform you can always repairs, upgrade or undo almost anything
![]() Take your time choosing and have fun doing it ![]() |

Well, M4 serie is in my favorite, with G36 and Scar serie. Must it be absolutely a M4 ? Scar or G36 is not good to start with ?
I remember Red Tiger on ASC told me that beginning with a quality G36 is a good choice to start. Is it important to start with an M4, or it doesnt matter ? I mean, can you tell me which is the difference ? Also, which brand do you suggest me for the 3 kind of gun (M4, G36 & Scar). Remember that full metal is my first choice, except for G36 serie. |

Remember if you are planning to go play airsoft, you are going to need gear. No one will let you on a field with out eye protection and in most cases face protection. Get some decent bdu, you don't have to look like you are a navy s.e.a.l, you just don't want to get your pimpin street clothes muddy and it does actually help camo you. Extra mags, do you want to be the guy with no ammo in a fire fight? $350 for a nice aeg, then gears, then decorate your m4 to make it look like a swiss army knife. Oh and if you blow your wad on an aeg... where is the beer money? have fun out there, keep fit and play safe. Body Break!

Well, i planned to spend almost 500$ - 600$ on a gun (included accessories) if possible. And then get a well complete A-TACS gear. I'm quite a perfectionist so maybe its gonna take me another month after buying the gun to begin playing, but i dont care because i wanna be well equiped
I want a great gun, customized my own way, and a nice loadout that fit my gaming style. And i'm ready to wait the time it takes and spend the needed money to reach this ! ![]() |

Real Sword Type 56... nuff said
If you want a G36 get a TM. And if you absolutely must have an M4 just like everyone else.. King Arms or KWA are among the best. And did you say Scar?... EWWWW ![]() IMO the G36 is a better choice than an M4 because it has a better mechbox (ver.3) and a better hop-up design. G36's are popular enough that there are plenty of upgrades, both internal and external that are available out there. Don't buy used if you don't know how to fix guns. There are good deals out there yes but used is just that... used, you never know. The last thing you want is to end up with a $500 wall hanger that breaks on you during your first game. Buy new till you're comfortable with fixing mechboxes. Spend everything you can now on good quality essentials. A good gun, battery/charger, full seal eye and face protection. And you'll never regret it. Don't spend much on kit or clothes just yet. You can put together a contractor's loadout for really cheap. A pair of cargos a regular button-up shirt and a 25$ chest rig. You never know where you're going to end up playing or what team you may want to join, you could be forced to buy a whole new loadout down the road. Get out and play a bit first before you spend on kit. Last edited by Kozzie; December 1st, 2011 at 02:59.. |

I'm not planning to play in a public game. I already got some contact to join semi-private and private game, heavy simulation, etc. I got contact for training too
I already played paintball, and tactical paintball so i got some base. I know its not exactly the same but its a bit like. I'm not a total noob in this domain. For a gun, i don't want to buy new now, because in my point it's a little bit expensive for quality gun. If it break, learning how to fix and repair a gun is something possible :P eheh Well, i know some of you might be veteran and may look at my point and say '' pfff another noob trying to be a pro like now ''. Well, its not this. I just learned some since a long time. It's been 3 or 4 years since i started looking, reading, watching and learning about airsoft on youtube, on forums (france forums, american forums, canadian forums, european forums). I'm quite a passionned of airsoft and i learn really fast. Getting good in that sport will not be a problem. I want to spend money, getting good stuff and equipment. But, veterans like you are my main source of better learning, and i just can't wait to talk face-to-face with some of you, sharing this passion. |

You can get a quality G36 for a very respectable price. Used Classic Army G36's sell for ~$400, and a new Umarex G36 will go for $500 flat.
You don't have to go overboard if you want quality, used Tokyo Marui MP5s (Still quality) can be found for as little as $200. A full set of ATACS will run you ~$100, and another ~$100 for a basic rig and pouches if you need them. Mags and batteries will cost ~$100 Minimum. Combining all that (Used G36 and all the gear), you're looking at at least $700 to get ready to go. Yay... |

Warning if you get a G36...the fuse will pop out easily (if there is one) and don't use LiPo....my wires burnt and melted, yes, melted, after only about 6 or 7 uses of shooting targets at home....
However, I'm willing to bet that mine was a lemon since I don't think many other people managed to do what I did....
