Batteries question

Is it generally better to remove the battery from an AEG when not in use? Or does it make any real difference?

Secondly, should the battery be drained fully before recharging?

NiCd should be discharged
NIMH doesnt need to be discharged
disconnect the battery

what TC said, but I also disconnect the battery for safety reasons also.
