GBB Upgrades?
So my friend gave me a Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 a few days ago to join GBB only games :kill: with him, and it turned out to be a blast
![]() ![]() Any input would be much appreciated ![]() P.S: I live in Europe ![]() |

Be aware that gbb parts are model and sometimes brand specific, unlike aeg parts. (It may work for your tm glock but not ksc glock and/or glock 17 but not glock 32. Whereas most aegs are not proprietar yand are copies of TM)
The metal upgrades, apart from inner barrel, are mostly for show (there's nothing like racking a full metal gun). Just make sure when buying upgrades you check compatibility. |

A stock TM pistol is just great. "upgrades" are often the source of problems vs. bringers of better performance.
There's a couple of good "Hicapa upgrade list" threads (one pretty recent). Sometimes you luck out and parts just drop in and work right....other times you drop them in and the gun is quirky all of a sudden. Metal slides typically can take more abuse/use than the plastic ones. Metal barrel+metal slide = heavier weight (nice) and clankety/clank sound (nice). An M4 CQB barrel (AEG barrel) and a Hicapa barrel are not interchangeable. The cuts for how it's fixed in position and the hopup rubber are different. A VSR10 barrel is the same though. If you have a lathe you can cut your own grooves and slots into it (I put a M16 barrel on a Hicapa just for fun once). |

And sticking that AEG inner barrel, therefore, is out of the question? :P |

Not sure how to be clear on this point...but I'll try.
None of the parts are hard to install...the pistol itself isn't a Rubic's cube. But, OFTEN...just slapping in all the parts does NOT result in a pistol that works great. There are a lot of fine tolerances and parts that engage each other....if these tolerances are out of wack, you end up with a pistol that doesn't function as it should. I do not know the exact cuts/slots on a Desert Eagle off hand. The TM 5.1/4.3 Hicapa have particular cuts...and they are not the same as an AEG. If the end of an AEG barrel is cut off, the cuts/slots machined in...then YES an AEG barrel can be made to fit a GBB....whether or not YOU can do it is up to you. Best of luck Tys |
