Damn them! Save the first 3-round burst for a Japanese gun? That'd explain the higher price, too, obviously. It still does look nice. Nicer than an M4, anyways.

I thought they would use a 'large' battery in the stock instead of a stick type?

Apparently the buttstock is too narrow to accommodate a large battery. The writeup on Arnies has some discussion about that I think. The stick battery is housed in the upper part of the handguard.

That's a shame, I'm sure a large battery could be hidden with a minor design change. I've always been a proponent of the Large battery type because they are easy to find and pretty much the toughest thing around.

Very nive looking rifle, 3 round burst is neat too, but Im with Greylocks on that large battery, shame cuz of the neat design of the stock you can't mod one or fit one in,

you could make a battery out of the panel style batteries. or make a custom one out of the mini size batteries

3 round "mechanical burst" in a new version mechbox. Now maybe we'll actually see "timing" become a reality and be myth no longer.

There will be an after market stock that will use a large battery.
How do I know this? Magic. And foresight. |

Honestly, the onlything cool thing i see in this gun is the three round burst modification. Otherwise for the price your better off getting a classic army CA33E which is a gun sort of related to the type89 that can hold a large battery. As for the three round burst feature I would feel just as comfertable tapping the trigger on full auto XP.
Otherwise, its a very sturdy and cool looking rifle as a collecters rifle its just fine. Does anyone know what type of motor the type89 uses? at least the specs on it? |

It looks like it may be possible to fit a series pair of stick configured 4.8v cells of largish capacity in the foregrip and the stock. More annoying than a single large pack, but it's probably possible to distribute decent battery storage in a couple places in the rifle.

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...1&highlight=89 I will wait for the reviews to come out first before jumping to buy this gun. The three rounds burst is a major selling point to me, must wait and see if is reliable or not. |

I'm sort of bewildered that TM didn't just make the Folding Stock version of the T89. Sure, more expensive, but at least then everyone wouldn't wonder why the full stock coudln't hold the battery

Great that the 3 round burst is mechanical - no more electronic failures as with the SIG550.
High price? Consider this: the body is.... METAL! Also, the stock can apparently hold a spare battery - which means with a few minor modifications, you can run two stick batteries in parallel for close to the performance of a sub-C pack. WGC just got them in stock as well, $330USD. http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?itm=TM-AEG-T89 ![]() Gear Box - Version 8 Motor - EG1000BT Magazine - 69 Rounds ( Compatible with M4 / M16 Magazines ) Length - 916mm Barrel Length - 433mm Weight - 3160g ( AEG with Magazine ) / 3560g ( AEG with Magazine & Bipod ) Battery - 8.4V AK Type ( Not Included ) Muzzle Velocity - 280-300FPS ( with 0.2g BBs ) Features: - Mechanical 3-Round Burst - One-Piece Aluminium Outer Barrel - Die-Cast Metal Receiver - Detachable Bipod - Adjustable sights - New type magazine follower allows all BBs fired - Compatible with M4 / M16 Magaiznes ( Type 89 Magazines do NOT fit M4 / M16 Series ) - Spare Battery Compartment in solid stock - 14mm Anti-Clockwise Threaded Outer Barrel allows mounting of accessories |
