High feed rate??
Something I have been wondering about.
How do the airsoft gatling guns feed so quickly? I think they are about 3000 rpm which is 50 bps. Some sort of screw? Aug? Electric hicap type device? |

If I'd had to guess I'd say an "electric hicap type device" a la c-mag.
I think Tru had or still has one, ask him. |

I remember him saying it was a non firing replica.

I belive they used a container that when pressure was added, would force the BBs into the feeding chamber. Only way to keep BBs flowing that fast would be with gas.
My team at one time had 5 Cmags and we did everything we should to make them feed fast enough. no way electric would work for the minigun |

C-mags suck anyways. Aside from my modding them to feed when the trigger was pulled, I also upgraded them from 6VDC (4 AAA batteries) to a single 9VDC battery. They fed faster, but C-mags are crap anyways and wear out fast regardless. Best thing for good continuous feeding is midcaps.
As far as how an airsoft M134a is fed (yes, the firing type seen all over), I haven't a clue other than a pressurized feed tube with a scavenger base. Be nice to find out though. |

the minigun feeding is powered by electrical power. when the barrel revolves, it also connect the feeding mechanism to drag the bb's in. and remember that it use a 12V battery large battery just to motor that mechanism. shooting out the bullet relies on gas tank.
there's another version that relies solely in electric power. it use a 12v battery found on your car to power both gearbox and feeding/barrel rotating mechanism |

So, the barrels come down and pull a bb out of a large hopper? Are the bb's organized before hand?

I think you pour them into a hollow area of the gun and they are kind of pushed in. It is very complex, and I get to see an M60 get taken apart next week ,shame it ain't now...
