AK wiring
I need to rewire an AK, I wonder what should I choose between:
ICS wires Classic Army wires G&G wires Anyone has experience with these? Which has the lowest resistance? Or should I search for some silver wires and make my own? |

If you know how to use a solder just get some 14 gauge wires and some deans and do it yourself.

Just grab a 18 gauge low impedance for the inside and then 14 gauge for the non tight space. Just re-wired my AK a few weeks ago and it works great!

Problem with a lot of those low resistance wires is the thickness of the insulation, which is what causes most of the headaches because it makes the mechbox sit off center, or the insulation is so soft it gets cut easily, causing shorts.
Most AEGs use #18AWG Teflon insulated wire, bigger is better (depending on the thickness of the insulation), but if you can't fit it safely, you can't use it. |

and if I'll have to choose between those three: CA, ICS, G&G which you recommend?

The wire that I used inside had super thin insulation was tough as shit. I ran into that problem initialy though. Bought the wire and then was like wait a minute, this isn't going fit

You only use 18? I've been using this Milspec ETFE fluoropolymer shielded 16AWG wire for the past year and I've yet to find a place where it doesn't fit.

If talking to me, ya I've used it, but is high strand count and has a higher current rating than other #18. What I did say is what most AEGs use (I recall one gun I got to work on, CA M14 or G&G), came wired up with what looked like #20AWG, had to scratch my head over that one. What I typically use is #16AWG Teflon these days since it's small enough to fit anywhere.
