That's why I said all my experiences were positive but it was just that one time that a cop was in a bad mood and doesn't want to deal with shit. Buddy ended up with a warning but if he wasn't nice about being pulled over probably could have gotten it a lot worse (I think you can get points added to your license if your "N" isn't displayed "properly").

And in addition to that, they are expected by civies to know every piece of legislation, every by-law, and every possible permutation and interpretation of those laws, in their brain at all times.

Most times when you get your crap taken, it's a matter of "We are too busy (tired/understaffed/annoyed by your pissy attitude) to figure this out on the side of the road and will just take your shit and let the court figure it out."

I'm new and just joined the forum. I have not played airsoft yet, though I do have a small, cheap AS handgun. I have been practicing on targets in my garage. (seems to pull to the left and up)

Law enforcement officers are trained to dig for information. They sound friendly and interested so you open up to them. When the officer mentioned that one would think there would be yellow markings etc, he was digging for information. It is his job to do so. If you were a criminal the likelihood of catching you in a lie would be that much more possible.

I am also beginning to think that the two kids he mentioned were the same two from the closed thread where the 14 yo and his friend got their AS confiscated to be destroyed. It is nice to see that most of the people on this forum are responsible enough to avoid that and not be retards.

The onus is upon the citizen to research regulations on these things. Due to the ambiguity of the laws regarding airsoft we all need to be sure not to set a precedent that will result in over regulation.

They can, actually. All they need is a suspicion and then they can pull an excuse to search out of their arse ad hoc. So, even if the gear were in the trunk, there would still be a possibility of a search anyway. "I thought I smelled an illicit substance... " then bingo, full search. It's amazing how many drug busts they make this way.

But if they don't find anything related to any illicit substances, I believe you can have any non-drug related evidence thrown out in court, because if the cop says he smelt drugs, and there weren't any drugs, he's obviously fucking retarded.
