High speed motor and drum magazine feed issue. (CYMA RPK/Drum mag)
Alright, so my RPK has been upgraded for a high ROF setup and I've got a bit of a problem, the motor is literally too fast for the magazine to keep up with, or so I think at least.
I don't have specifics on how fast its shooting, but I can't feed consistently through my CYMA drum magazine without holding the winder button down. I'd do this, but the gun is very awkward to hold in such a manner. I would prefer it to simply feed normally in between winds. What can I do to improve feeding with a High ROF setup? Thanks! |

You could wire the drum mag into the rpk's circuit so it winds whenever you fire it.

Thats something I want to avoid actually, I have multiple drums and don't really want the hassle of wires hanging off of the gun.

mod the drum with a remote line, have it leat to under your thumb of your trigger hand attach it with velcro, works for me on my M249.

easiest way to do it is get a flashlight remote, cut off the screw cap, and splice the wiring into your box mag's switch.

You can also mod it to be sound activated... takes a bit of knowledge, but it is basically a simple OP-AMP wired to a comparator... when enough noise is made (for example, the gun shoots) it triggers a 2sec timer that activates the motor. The timer is reset as long as there is noise in the 2 seconds delay...
So basically 5$ in electronics... about the same as a flashlight remote. |
