Any room for props/costumes in airsoft?
Hello everyone, kind of new sorry if it's been answered previously.
Let's start like this. I've never played Airsoft. I used el cheapo clearsofts from Canadian Tire and that's it. But, I love paintball and I'm sure I'd love airsoft, when I'm 18 ( ![]() Anyway, my big hobby these days is replicating props from Movies or video games. Like I've seen on ebay a Army of Two mask for airsoft. But how is it on the field? Is it used? Is it worth the investment (time and money to actually make the prop). I have no intention to make a AoT costume, don't worry. But the end result is the same. Is a "prop" helmet allowed on a field. Considered it's casted in hard plastic and possibly backupd with fiberglass inside? Thank you very much, and sorry for my average english. |

You'd have to check with your field you will be playing with, some people don't care, some want it as realistic as possible.

Firstly, most of the games in the Montreal area are 18+.
A few games have costumes with props and stuff (mostly zombie -themed), some don't have any sort of restrictions on BDUs (like at the indoor paintball field), but most of the games are milsim-oriented so not only are "clown suits" not frowned upon, they simply would not fit into any of the team BDU requirements.

Yeah I was saying for when I'm 18.
Actually the idea is to make the prop available to others as well. Working on a Master chief helmet actually, and realism-wize, could always be painted woodland :P |

That wouldn't make it realistic...still Halo whether it's camo or not lol
Personally, a good set of gear is cooler than any videogame mask... |

Even if this one is not mine, I'd still crap in my pants if this comes out running out of the woods.
![]() (not mine) Thanks for the quick answers guys! |

In terms of props, the only thing i could think of would be for simulations, such as bomb props, and things like that. You could try making those?

Gotta finish the helmet first. ^^ Quite enough $$$ invested in it at the moment and about 2 months of work, before I posted here :P
![]() ![]() I'm planning on doing only the helmet at this time. Scenery objects like bomb are probable. |

Keep in mind you'll have a hard time using your sights with a mask like that. Probably why Halo doesn't have Irons:P

Sights? Use your HUD! ^^
Yeah most of it is Bondo, the main frame is a paper model with fiberglass and plastic resin to strenghen it. Thanks for the comments ![]() For those interested : www.405th.com I learned everything there, and in fact, that's my 3rd attempt at making a helmet :P |
