ESS is actually making an Airsoft goggle line complete with a dorky nose guard (they're not out yet). People have even had their orders canceled when they fill out the questionnaire and put "airsoft" as the use of the goggles...
The problem, as they see it, is that a BB can slip in between the plastic supports that are covered over with foam on their goggles, so they don't want them to be used for Airsoft since a BB can penetrate them.
...I got this information from a local player who is testing the ESS goggles they designed for Airsoft (and his feedback to them so far hasn't been good).
