The last CA front end that I worked on had a pretty beefy barrel and the RIS has a metal heat shield inside it, so I don't think that you can sqeez anything be some flat Li-Po batteries in there.
If you don't want the ANPEQ box, where the battery is stored, you'll need to rear-wire it and go with a crane/mod type stock.
