Yeah, that is one weakness for sure. But its also the reason its inexpensive, the logic circuit in it is custom to the 900mah-3300mah range from 7.2 to 10.8v. If you're within that range, its a fire and forget charger. I have other batteries other than airsoft ones in that range and have made plug adapters to mine because it works that much better than the adapter that came with it - the AEP comes to mind - the original adapter heated the 7.2v battery waaaaaaaaaaaay to high so I cut the connector and hooked it up to the NPT charger and its charged like a champ ever since. I also use it for my radio and flashlight batteries.

Don't waste your money on discharge circuitry - a 12v automotive backup lamp is better - it drains the battery slower and gentler and you can tell when its done because the lamp goes out but it does leave enough juice for the battery to properly charge - but with NPT I find I only need to discharge my battery after 12 months or so (if that) or if I am going to store it for more than 3 months.

There is a ton of information on my website about the NPT process - I recommend you have a read, its explains why the NPT charging process is superior to peak charging.

And indeed if you have any problem with it at all, I exchange it completely, as I do with all my products. I also do same or next day expedited shipping.
