250V? Euro power supply is 240V... which side of the charger is the fuse for? power in, or charge out? - it might not have anything to do with anything but from the info you've given the only thing that occurs to me is the charger's set up for UK power for some strange reason.....

EDIT: nevermind - i just took the time to look up the charger at vel. arms - it's worldwide power ok....

does say "Safety protection fuse for over current, short circuit & reverse polarity protection" - so check for those three conditions and then keep guessing i guess...
