The only fast answer for you is to get a far better charger. Even then... 3 batteries in 5 hours? Wont happen unless they are the Large type and the charger allows for controlled fast charge.
The slow answer? I never heard of a charger that said 'plug in the battery first'.
I have not googled your charger, but if it's a trickle charger there is no way you'll charge 3 batteries, or even one, in 5 hours.
