Asking Mac this because he's probably owned and operated more Systema's then most people ever will.

I took a huge gamble selling off all my other guns to buy the new PTWs. I really had no idea how the MAX guns would perform as the my old M16A3 has performance like a mildly upgraded AEG.

The new ones just blow anything else away.

I have range and accuracy with a CQB-R that guys with heavily upgraded M14s or M16s can't match. I can alter my platform from CQB and 300 fps to long-distance shooting at 500 fps in less than a minute (including battery change).

Now, the cylinder kits for the M16 are not compatible with the M4, but parts are available to to make them compatible for about $150. You can make your old M16 perform just like a new MAX gun for about $700, including new lower gearbox, motor, tightbore barrel kit, spring guide and cylinder lock kit and electronics. Considering you'll pay $2k minimum for a new one, you can bring your old one up to current performance standards for the cost of upgrading a Marui to basic performance standards. And the work will take about an hour to do and is quite simple really.

After buying the MAX M4's and fielding them now a few times, I can say it's worth selling all your other guns and focusing just on them. I wouldn't sell your M16, as the platform for unbelievable performance is basically there, you just need a few parts to bring up to that level.
