Also, I've been told by one source that I can't fit a battery in the RIS. Is this true? And if so, would a bit of dremeling fix the problem without compromising the RIS too much?
Yes, that's the right part. I couldn't fit a battery in mine, but I figured that was because of the outer barrel. I don't think there's much inside the RIS to dremel out, anyways.
