If your friends are that old and still didn't bother to read up things on their own before asking a generic question that's been covered in the FAQ, then there's the reason for getting flamed. It has nothing to do with whether they are age-verified.
If an age-verified member asks the same question, they too would get flamed for not reading.
Lastly, on top of emails, have you bothered to show up to a game? Or at least inquire in the game section whether an age verifier will be attending the game.
