A one man thread, I've got going here.
Okay, so with the aid of tweezers, I managed (somehow... Jesus, thank you) to get that teeny spring and piece back into the main block. Now, back to square one.
JohnnyDo PM'd me this, which I found to be very helpful:

the trick to getting it in is to NOT try and get the hammer spring lined up with the large metal bracket until the pin that holds the hammer in place is in.
- put spring back on firing pin
-align the firing pin so that it sticks out the hole in front of the main mount
- while holding the mount with the firing pin facing away from you, there is a small bar that goes on the left, leave this out
- put the trigger bar on the hammer with the top right cornor of the trigger bar against the nub on the side of the hammer
- put the hammer in the mount such that the fireing pin sticks out.... the hammer will have to go in, in position as if it alreayd fired ie facing forward. the hammer spring must go through the mount such that is does not rest on the peice that holds it normally
- stick that small bar in the left side of the mount between the hammer and the main mount.
- put the pin in that holds the hammer ... use a small screw driver and poke things from behind to align with the pin
- use the same screw driver to push the hammer spring on the ledge of the main mount.
- congrats yoru done. if you can't do this yourself then it's best to send it off to someone with more experiance or teflon fingers hehe.

Finally, this site describes the experience of changing a ksc glock hammer spring really, really well:
