Grip tape works just fine,(buy mine at princess auto) might be too aggressive of a grip though. Truck bedliner spray is good too. If it's more about the grip than the texture "Plastidip" paint or similar works well and is easy to peel off when you want. You can't tell to look at it that it's there but adds a rubbery grip.
