Thanks cav.
The slide tabs are in there nice and tight with zero wobble: they actually were kinda hard to get on (plastic ain't perfect).
I used the goggle headband insert clips (or wutdafuqeva they're called) and some paracord. I removed the elastic strapping from the mesh and looped paracord through the attachment loop on both sides of the mesh, then lopped it through the headband clips. Check it:
I then pulled both to optimum tightness while wearing the helmet and my goggle to get a really good snug and accurate fit. Simply tied a double knot on both sides, took it all off, cut the excess cord and took a lighter to the ends/knots to melt it all together (did the lighter thing post photo).
I like it much better than clipping the mesh to my goggles as that gets floppy and still gets in the way of eating/drinking/smoking on the field and putting mesh on separately means putting the mesh on and then everything else over top which makes it impossible to do any of those without taking is all off, plus doing that and using the chin strap is uncomfortable as fuck.
This way I can put my helmet/goggles on, do the chin strap up, and then simply clip both ends of my mesh into the helmet over top and boom; Bob's your uncle.
