Yep the aluminum ones suck. have used it for a couple times and issues I found were:
While carrying the case with 2 rifles in, the lock would disengage from the locking hole (when the combination is set to your pin).
The panels have been dented so much because I set it down on table tops with BB's. One panel near the lock is completely disconnected from the outer frame.
Oh and BTW the sling mount broke the second I tried it on (no guns, nothing inside).
I will be looking to see what Mezzi says about this..
