High torque neodymium motors generally stick to stuff so strong that you start walking around the house showing everybody how strong the magnets are.

Anyways, if your motor is having trouble compressing the spring, this can be one of many reasons you may have trouble pulling off a shot... but not the only reason. If this was your own build I'd also suspect over-shimming as a possible issue.

Another possibility is that you've adjusted your motor too high or too low in the pistol grip and it is either binding against the anti-reversal teeth of the bevel gear (too high) or not getting enough grip against the bevel gear (too low).
