Mine seems ok. Having said that, I have it on a G&P metal body + barrel + GBTECH free floating RIS.
I used to have it on a TM stock RIS AEG and it was ok, but I didn't have it on all the time, or enough to really tell you if the weight did any damage (for me it didn't).
The only thing I don't like about the RIS version (besides not being completely realistic, hehe), is that it sits lower on the RIS, by virtue of needing to mount on the rails. You can then see more of a gap between it and the barrel when you compare it to non-RIS-mounted 203s.
