Yeah, I wished they would have kept it in house, but I guess they weren't ready to get into the whole logistics of manufacturing firearms. I haven't shot one yet, but got my hands on one at a gunshow, and I wasn't too overly impressed. The first time I saw the Masada on an episode of Future Weapons and thought the overall conceptual design was sound, take the guts from an M4/M16, turn it into a modern reliable lightweight weapon system that was ambidexterious, used composite/polymers, and was relatively low cost.

Ironically for combat tubberware the Masada/ACR is heavier than the M4/M16. I like how the gun was design around M4/M16 parts, like the trigger group and barrel, and though the ability to quick detach the barrel is innovative from what I have read it doesn't hold zero after removing and remounting. Not to mention the MSRP is near triple of what Magpul originally wanted to offer it at. Thus I feel the end product ultimately did not meet the original design criterion. Then again I haven't had a chance to put some lead down the pipe, but those are some of my thoughts on the weapon system. I wished we had unrestricted barrel lengths, because state side we got to register and pay a $200 tax stamp for any SBR/SBS or any other NFA item.
