i reused the old tm alloy spring retainer when i upgraded my m4, with gearbox assembled push a rod through the nozzle and push piston back manually to see if it travels far enough back, could be that the spring coils are binding as to long.
if this is the case remove the alloy plug and replace with a nut and washer to give extra clearance
