Are you asking about the CF Issue Tac Vest in Arid CADPAT?

Yea, the real ones are not on the market for civvies, if you come across one on ebay or something it would be stolen property. All of these vests are in clothing stores in KAF with exception to the WES modified ones in CMTC Wainright.

Also, the Tac Vest sucks, the Arid is no different than the TW one.

Mine spent the entire tour in a kitbag while I wore my HSGI Warlord.

On the other hand if you're after the arid vest that was based off the old OD LBV, then you're gonna be in for a tough search cuz those are rare as rocking horse shit...

Just sayin'...it'd be a gucci piece of kit to acquire, but about as useless as the tacvest.

I was actually looking for one just like the TW one (a repro). I'm not trying to find an issued one. I'm sure it'd be very hard (and illegal to own). I just don't wanna drop $300-400 for a ARID vest from CP Gear. Just trying to get a ARID load out started. ARID Pants, OTW Shirt, vest, etc.

With the tacvest on it's way out, you are just better off building a coyote brown rig. CF pers on overseas have been using various rigs from many manufacturers for awhile now, and soon we'll have a new "issued" load carrying system.

I think he's going for a Canadian Arid loadout. AFAIK we don't use the CIRAS in the regular forces.

You hit it right on the head man. It's not that there is anything wrong with a CIRAS. Just going for the exact look of the Canadian Soldier in Afghanistan.

Get yourself a coyote TT MAV 2-piece...soon enough it might be more common then the tacvest :p

As it has been said many soldiers over seas use their own style of vest. New modular systems are being tested to become the new standard issue vest of the forces so soon Tac-Vest will be a thing of the past.

I like the MoFOCR. It's just way too pricey.

TT 2 Piece MAV in Coyote Brown, Tan or OD and the HSGI Warlord in ARID CADPAT or Coyote Brown are some of the most common/popular rigs in use by CF forces in Afghanistan. Theres also quite a few others being used. I dunno why everyone has this fixation on I must have a tac vest to have a realistic look when most guys ditch the tac vest whenever they can for something better.

It's not so much a fixation as a preference. I figured if someone made a Repo ARID CADPAT LBV then, I'd purchase that cause it'd be cheaper than some $400 rig. If worst comes to worst, I'll wear a CIRAS.
