what is it going to take to get a CAR-15?
http://world.guns.ru/assault/CAR15.JPG
i love the look of this gun. Why wouldn't the make an updated version? Same look, updated parts. Well, because they don't, i'm looking to buy an old one but i can't for the life of me find one. I can't even find a place to buy parts like the short triangle handguards. Any suggestions? |

Might have to fab them yourself.
Maybe try contacting a Vietnam re-enactors group (that would have been issued to troops in the Vietnam era if I'm not mistaken). |
You can look at getting a CA XM177E2 or a TM m733 or m933.
The TM m733 and the CA XM177E2 both take the battery in the front so the main issue would be to take out the retractable stock. |
Tokyo Marui made a CAR-15 at some point: Review
Your best bet would be to seek out a used one or at least second-hand parts. Other than that, you can cut down a set of M16A1 foregrips and toss them onto a M733. The collapsing stock might be tougher, but I found at least one used one on Google. |
