I'm not a retailer.

Some people have complained about my add. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=86647

They're bbs I had left from a group buy that fell through 2 years ago. I'm just trying to get some of my money back.

They're only good for grenades.

I don't see why I should pay a retailer's fee as I won't have any inventory coming in once they are sold out.

maybe add that information to your thread. it will help people understand and not complain.

Apparently in the retailer only section some retailers (i have no idea which ones though) complain about anybody selling anything as retailing if it looks like they MAY make a profit.

Jimski August 3rd, 2009 19:50

well that's understandable if they pay a fee and they have to be responsible with the clients, while the others don't have to and it's free for them...

lemegacool August 3rd, 2009 19:53

i dont think he makes alot profit selling these! and i think he is responsible enought to not try to escape the retailer fee. lol, sorry defcon i would buy your bb's but i purchased 3 x 4000 madbull non polished bb's before seeing your ad...

so I can't sell something in the classifieds for X profit if someone else decides he is willing to pay Y amount for it? sheesh!

Both False

It is those who appear to be a continous seller and bringer of new goods as well as are known in the past to have Supplier contacts to bring in new guns. That exempts collectors, gamers, chairsofters or whoever who are just trying to thin out their collection.

understood. I was going on Sepulcrum's post assuming it was credible information.

This whole concept wouldn't even be a problem if retailers didn't have to pay those fees. It's good that it serves to support the site but on the other hand it stops things from happening/being sold.

Examples :

A guy I know managed to lay his hands on a batch of military boots (like 10-15 pairs) and wanted to sell them here while making 0-5$ profit just to get rid of them and allow the community to get them. He was asked to either pay to be a retailer or stop selling them.... He stopped because 50$ would make him have to lose money, it's our loss.

Another guy had the habit of buying and reselling his guns very often (always only keeping the most recent acquisition). He was asked to be a retailer or stop. He stopped selling here altogether.

Pay-per-add for a retailer status could be good. This way the "boot guy" could have paid a small fee for one ad and not be bugged. 50$/month is a lot of money for small-time or one-time retailers. It eats up smaller profits thus making selling not even worth it.

People end up selling outside of ASC on online classifieds...

Didn't even waste my time reading the whole thread but for real whoever complained about this really needs to get a life lol. MYOB and maybe leave the computer room once and awhile :p

I was just told exactly what i said word for word by a retailer but he may have miss worded it.

FOX_111 August 4th, 2009 21:35

And I had the impression that this retailler section was only to give more visibility to those that wish to sell a lot.

Now it sound like it turned into a little "protection mafia".

I just recently responded to the post reports, tagged the seller with an infraction and moved the thread to a watched area that is accessible by mods only.

Defcon, did you speak to and have the thread approved by any mods or admin before you posted it?
